About The Position
The Personal Care Attendant (PCA) Caregiver position is a full-time role based in Tillamook, offering a day shift schedule. The starting pay for this position is $18.00 per hour. The PCA will provide direct resident care and complete assignments as a universal worker, ensuring that residents maintain dignity, independence, and choice. The role involves regular observation of residents' physical and mental conditions, with the responsibility to report any changes to the Health Services Director, Expressions Coordinator, or Executive Director. The PCA will assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), take vital signs, and document care services accurately on communication logs and incident reports. Immediate reporting of incidents and accidents is also required. In addition to direct care, the PCA will assist residents in moving to and from the dining room and activities, perform first aid, and initiate emergency response procedures when necessary. The role includes greeting residents, visitors, and staff courteously, answering phones, and supporting community fire safety and infection control practices. The PCA will serve meals, assist with dining room and kitchen maintenance, and help with apartment housekeeping and residents' laundry. Participation in training, in-services, and staff meetings is also expected, along with performing other related duties as assigned. Candidates must complete and pass a competency evaluation within 120 days of employment and fulfill state-required training, including First Aid, CPR, and HIV training. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with at least one year of personal care experience with older adults preferred. Current First Aid and CPR certification, as well as a Food Handlers permit if required by the state, are also necessary for this role.
