About The Position

Beloit Health System has Immediate Opportunities for Personal Care Attendants/Certified Nursing Assistants to join Riverside Terrace. In these positions the Personal Care Attendants/Certified Nursing Assistant will assist residents who are functionally, physically, and or socially impaired and need assistance with supportive, nursing, and personal care. The Personal Care Attendants/Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible to assist tenants with those activities of daily living that they are unable to perform without help, fostering at all times residents' independence and freedom of choice. All responsibilities will be conducted in a manner that is consistent with the philosophy of Beloit Memorial Hospital's and NorthPointe Terrace's mission, vision, and values. Assures the provision of high-quality services needed and/or desired by tenants and their families. Attains and/or maintains ongoing compliance with appropriate local, state, federal, regulatory, and/or accrediting body standards. Strives to attain excellence in consumer satisfaction through provision of quality services in an environment of professionalism and compassion. Maintains high level of involvement/participation in all tenant activities. Provides Activity Coordinator and Director with ongoing feedback/suggestions regarding the activity program. Assists residents to self-administer medications under supervision of Registered Nurse and after completion of approved medication course. Provides assistance with activities of daily living for tenants including but not limited to: dressing, bathing, personal hygiene (shaving, oral hygiene, nail care, foot care, hair care), mobility assistance (cane, walker, wheelchair, and crutch use) including monitoring of safe transfer and ambulation techniques, use and care of ADL devices (including eyeglasses, contact lenses, hearing aids) Provides assistance with instrumental activities of daily living for tenants including but not limited to: telephone use, housekeeping tasks (vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning bathrooms, bedmaking, linen changes), laundry, light maintenance, transportation, mail delivery, and personal correspondence. Conducts room checks and tenant rounds/checks and monitors for environmental and safety hazards. Records incidents, errors, and accidents. Reports such occurrences to Director within 1 hour. Escorts tenants to dining room, sets up and cleans tables, serves meals, eat meals with tenants during mealtimes. May also be Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must have Current WI CNA certification
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • CPR Certification within 3 months
  • Must complete the required medication training course
  • Possesses the training, knowledge and skills necessary to perform one or more of the following activities (evaluation, treatment and/or patient care) for patients in one or more of the following groups: adult and geriatric.
  • Maintains appropriate levels of confidentiality at all times.
  • Works collaboratively with peers and all team members.
  • Follows up promptly and thoroughly with appropriate staff, tenants, or other individuals regarding reported complaints, problems, and concerns.
  • Adheres to established hospital and Riverside Terrace policies, rules, and regulations
  • Requires the ability to see and hear at a level sufficient to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • May be required to transfer, lift, or position tenants up to 250 pounds; push/pull tenants weighing 75-300 pounds in wheelchairs.
  • Ability to continuously perform simple manipulative tasks with equipment listed above and occasionally perform difficult manipulative tasks, as well as use safety pins, buttons, snaps, buckles, and tie strings.
  • Ability to safely assist tenants with all ADLS, transfers, and ambulation requiring good hand/eye coordination and steadiness as well as the ability to move freely in tight spaces, between objects, equipment, and furniture.
  • Ability to stand and walk up to 75% of an 8 hour day.
  • Must be able to frequently squat, bend, reach over the shoulder, kneel, twist, sit, stand, and remain in uncomfortable positions for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to hear and distinguish normal sounds with background noises ranging from normal conversational levels to high-pitched sounding alarms.
  • Must be able to give and receive verbal instructions, hear audible emergency signals, alarms, call light indicators, and be able to answer the phone.
