About The Position

PERSONAL CARE ASSISTANT PRN Location: Elwyn, PA Status: PRN Shift: Any shift/day including weekends and holidays Incentive: Shift Differential for 2nd and 3rd shift Position Purpose: This role impacts participants lives by providing essential personal care services and health support. Position Details: This program provides services to a community specifically comprised of deaf seniors. All candidates must be willing to learn American Sign Language (ASL). 1st Shift 6 am to 230 pm 2nd Shift 2 pm to 1030 pm 3rd shift 10 pm to 630 am Ministry/Facility Information Mercy LIFE Valley View, part of Trinity Health PACE, provides high-quality care to seniors in the communities we serve. Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience working with a frail/elderly population or if less than one (1) year of experience, must receive appropriate training from the PACE organization upon hiring.
Must be willing to learn American Sign Language (ASL).
Valid driver's license, insurance and use of personal vehicle.
Ability to work independently and adapt to change.

Nice To Haves

ASL proficiency preferred.
Preferred experience in long-term care or geriatric programs.
Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Conduct ongoing participant assessments and monitoring.
Provide assistance with daily activities, including toileting, grooming, and meals.
Aid in maintaining physical activity and exercise routines.
Identify safety hazards and respond to emergencies.
Assist with recreational activities, meal service, and housekeeping.
Report any changes in participant's condition to center staff.
Escort participants to appointments and assist with transportation.
