About The Position
Golden Years Homemakers & Companions, Inc. is seeking dedicated and compassionate Personal Care Assistants (PCA) to provide essential services to elderly individuals in a home care setting. Our organization is committed to delivering high-quality care to clients across the state of Connecticut, and we pride ourselves on being flexible with our employees regarding scheduling. The PCA role is vital in ensuring that our clients receive the support they need to maintain their independence and quality of life in their own homes. As a PCA, you will be responsible for performing a variety of household services that are essential to health care at home. This includes meal preparation, laundry, light housekeeping, and reminding patients to take their medications as directed. You will also assist with personal care activities such as bathing, skin care, oral hygiene, and dressing. It is crucial to document the care provided and report any changes in the client's condition to the Care Coordinator, ensuring that all care is tailored to the individual needs of each client. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of six months of experience in a supervised setting, preferably in a healthcare facility, and will demonstrate the ability to follow a written Plan of Care. Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, as is the ability to maintain confidentiality and promote a safe environment for clients.
