About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a compassionate and dependable Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide one-on-one support for a student enrolled in an Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) program within a school-based setting. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the student’s safety, comfort, and ability to participate fully in daily educational activities.

Requirements

• Prior experience working with young children (preschool or kindergarten age) or students with special needs strongly preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; coursework in education, child development, or healthcare is a plus.
• Strong patience, empathy, communication skills, and physical stamina, including the ability to lift or position students as needed.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized assistance addressing the student’s educational, physical, and developmental needs.
• Support activities of daily living (ADLs), including toileting/diapering, feeding, and personal hygiene while maintaining dignity and respect.
• Assist the student with safe movement throughout the classroom and school environment, including transitions between activities.
• Implement behavior intervention strategies as directed by instructional or therapeutic staff.
• Encourage engagement in classroom activities, peer interactions, and sensory-based learning experiences.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists, and school staff to support individualized education goals.
