About The Position

Assisting Hands Home Care is hiring Personal Care Aides (PCA) with experience supporting individuals living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia for weekend shifts in Centreville and surrounding areas. We also have additional opportunities available in Manassas, Gainesville, and nearby locations for various shifts and schedules.

Requirements

• Active Personal Care Aide license in the State of Virginia
• Prior experience working with dementia or Alzheimer’s clients (mild to severe stages preferred)
• Current CPR certification and negative TB screening
• Ability to pass a background check (per Virginia HCO regulations)
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and insurance
• Able to lift at least 25 lbs. and assist safely with transfers

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to dementia and Alzheimer’s clients
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting
• Offer gentle redirection and emotional support for memory-related behaviors
• Prepare meals and perform light housekeeping
• Offer companionship and engagement through conversation or activities
• Give medication reminders and document all care
• Support clients safely with mobility and transfers
