Avid is hiring Caregivers/PCAs as paraprofessional members of our client care team to provide selected personal care services and limited related household tasks as part of the client’s plan of care.

  • Implements and provides day-to-day Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL) support to clients within their home as ordered by the physician’s plan of treatment and client’s plan of care.
  • Assists clients with personal care including baths, mouth care, skin care, grooming, dressing and undressing activities.
  • Assists with elimination needs such as toilet, commode, urinal, and bedpan.
  • Helps with transfers and ambulation with or without mechanical aids.
  • Assists the client with therapy exercises under the direction of a Registered Therapist.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and healthy environment for the client.
  • Plans and prepares meals according to specific dietary requirements of the client.
  • Performs light housekeeping and laundry of clients' bedding and clothing.
  • Assists in completing activities such as shopping, errands, and appointments outside of the home.
  • Provides companionship and stimulation for the client.
  • Reminds client for self-administration of medication, but does not administer medications.
  • Accurately documents shift details and services within established time parameters.
  • Ensures the safety of clients and self by following Universal Precautions.
  • Observes and reports changes in the client’s conditions or incidents during shift.
  • Maintains and improves skills through attendance at staff development programs.
  • Maintains confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA regulations.
  • Follows all agency policies and procedures.
  • Current certification/registration with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • Current PCA certification.
  • Compliance with all existing regulations and company policies.
  • CPR certification preferred and may be required for some clients.
  • Ability to meet transportation, language, and cultural requirements specific to branch needs.
  • Sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick.
  • Ability to read, write, and carry out directions.
  • Maturity to deal effectively with the demands of the job.
  • Bi-lingual – English/Spanish.
