About The Position

The Personal Care Aide (PCA) provides compassionate, in-home personal care services to eligible Title III consumers, helping older adults maintain independence with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs). This role is essential to supporting safety, dignity, and quality of life in the home.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; must be 18 years or older.
  • Current STNA certification (60-hour NATCEP required).
  • Valid driver's license required, with reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with transfers.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Respect for older adults, privacy, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with personal care including bathing, grooming, oral care, and dressing
  • Support mobility, transfers, ambulation, and safe positioning
  • Assist with toileting and incontinent care
  • Prepare meals, follow special diet instructions, and encourage hydration
  • Provide light homemaking related to personal care (laundry, linens, dishes, trash)
  • Monitor and record vital signs as directed
  • Follow infection control and safety procedures
  • Observe, document, and report changes in consumer condition
  • Complete errands such as grocery and prescription pick-up
  • Maintain accurate documentation and confidentiality
  • Perform other duties as assigned
