About The Position

Concordia Private Care is seeking part-time Personal Care Aides for flexible shifts to care for our patients in our Cabot Campus, or Allison Park Campus. The personal care aide is a paraprofessional staff member trained to provide personal care, activities of daily living, exercise programs, and related services in the home for the sick and disabled, when no family member can assume this responsibility. This employee functions under the direction, instruction and supervision of the registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.

Requirements

• Successfully completes Agency Competency Evaluation.
• One year of supervised employment as a personal care aide or nursing assistant is preferred.
• Scores at or above the 75% score on the nursing assistant evaluation/pre-employment test.
• Ability to understand and carry out directions and instructions and keep appropriate records.
• Hold current CPR and First Aid card (HSFA).
• Reliable, independent means of transportation to make home visits.
• Car must be covered by established amount of insurance as described in personnel policies.
• Driver must have valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, hair care, nail care, assistance with ambulation, changing position in bed, assistance with transfers, oral hygiene, changing bed linens of an incontinent beneficiary, shaving, deodorant application, skin care with lotions and/or powder, foot care, ear care, and feeding.
• Perform housekeeping tasks including dusting, vacuuming, light meal preparation, taking out the trash, and laundry.
• Assist with medications that are ordinarily self-administered and do not require the skills of a licensed nurse to be provided safely and effectively.
