The Personal Banker is responsible for promoting business for the Bank and maintaining good customer relations by performing as an active member of the branch office sales/service team. This includes conducting sales and cross-sales of all financial products and services to prospective and existing customers, completing documentation and performing point-of-sale processing of all types of new accounts and loan applications, identifying and referring prospective customers to the Wealth Management area of the Bank, providing direct teller service to Bank customers, and responding to inquiries and requests from customers. Additionally, the Personal Banker provides leadership and support to less experienced staff members.

  • Actively assists in performing the branch office sales function.
  • Completes the documentation and performs point-of-sale processing on all types of new accounts, services and loan applications/closings.
  • Assists in obtaining sales and growth objectives for the branch.
  • Solicits new business from existing and prospective customers; maintains ongoing business relationship with present customers in order to maximize cross-selling opportunities.
  • Actively makes referrals to the Wealth Management area of the bank.
  • Provides sales information on a timely basis for sales performance reports via bank software programs.
  • Monitors individual sales performance versus objectives monthly; frequently reviews current job performance with supervisor.
  • Demonstrates sufficient sales skills to meet assigned goals by following the MCT Sales Process and Customer Contact Program.
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all of the Bank's products and services.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of general financial issues customers face related to asset management, credit management, education, family support and retirement.
  • Provides direct service to customers with respect to deposit products and services.
  • Performs various teller duties relating to paying, receiving, and balancing functions.
  • Provides leadership and support to less experienced staff members.
  • Personally prepares various forms and reports and provides information as requested by management.
  • Complies with all corporate policies, procedures and federal regulations.
  • Offers suggestions and participates with branch event marketing activities.
  • Performs any other related duties as assigned or as necessary.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to three years personal banker experience.
  • Proven track record in selling bank products.
  • Working knowledge in wealth management.
  • Problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Intermediate keyboarding skills.
  • Moderately complex math skills.
  • Ability to create written materials.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and customers.
