About The Position

As a Personal Banker, you will be the energetic and enthusiastic face of Great Plains Bank to retail branch customers, with a passion for helping customers, building relationships, and delivering superior customer service. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of your career development through various advancement and training opportunities. This position is eligible to participate in the Team Incentive Plan (TIP). In this role, you will take a lead in delivering a superior experience to Great Plains customers, acquiring, managing, and retaining meaningful relationships, and using your financial knowledge to offer thoughtful solutions to address their financial needs, thereby contributing to the success of the branch. This is a floating position among several markets, including the Dallas/Ft. Worth Area, where the applicant could consider any of these markets as an office location and be willing to travel to other markets as needed.

Requirements

  • Associates degree from two-year college or university; or 3-5 years of experience in Retail banking sales, financial services sales, Consultative relationship sales role in a related industry, with proven success in establishing new clients, deepening customer relationships and delivering results.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and/or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other employees, customers and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate basic math figures and amounts.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office software.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a superior customer experience by acting with a customer-first attitude.
  • Manage assigned customers and proactively meet with them, both in person and over the phone, to build lasting relationships, discover financial needs and tailor product and service recommendations.
  • Make personal connections, engage and educate customers, ask open-ended questions, and listen to establish trust and build lasting relationships.
  • Influence, educate, and connect customers to Great Plains technology.
  • Possess initiative and knowledge to provide financial options for customers using a consultative approach.
  • Learn products, services, and procedures quickly and accurately and deliver solutions that make products and services work together.
  • Work in partnership with Specialists (Consumer Loan, Financial Advisors, Mortgage Bankers, Treasury Management, and Business Banking) to connect customers to experts who can help them with specialized financial needs.
  • Open checking, savings, certificate of deposits, safe deposit boxes and all account types and maintain customer files.
  • Receive funds for deposit or distribute funds after verification of accounts and balances and examine checks for endorsements.
  • Enter customers' transactions into computer to memo post transactions, and issue teller machine and manually generated receipts.
  • Place holds on accounts for uncollected funds.
  • Order daily supply of cash and count incoming cash.
  • Balance currency and coin in cash drawer at end of shift and compare totaled amounts with data displayed on teller machine and/or other corresponding reports.
  • Process incoming and outgoing collection items.
  • Process branch daily insufficient checks online.
  • Order customer checks and pay invoices.
  • Perform customer wire transfer services.
  • Process forms received in person or by mail.
  • File forms.
  • Effectively contribute to a positive team environment and work towards achieving goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
