About The Position

The Personal Banker is responsible for fostering a positive work environment that inspires, motivates, challenges, supports, and recognizes exceptional performance. They provide excellent customer service while identifying sales opportunities and performing account transactions. The role involves executing consumer-based and business relationship building efforts in a full-service banking center, focusing on daily sales initiatives and proactive customer interaction. This includes meeting with customers to discuss their banking needs, initiating outbound calls for customer onboarding, prospecting new retail customers, and cross-selling banking relationships. The Personal Banker also assists the Banking Center Manager in outside sales activities and participates in community service opportunities. Operationally, they must comply with all bank policies, procedures, and security measures, and may operate as a teller while supporting the banking center's sales and operational objectives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook 365 and banking software.
  • Strong consumer lending skills preferred.
  • Ability to generate new financial relationships through outbound calling.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills.
  • Strong product knowledge for selling and cross-selling.
  • Ability to interpret various instructions.
  • Sound mathematical and analytical skills preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Willingness to register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS).
  • Experience in banking, cash handling, sales, and customer service preferred.
  • Supervisory or leadership skills desired.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service and support.
  • Engage in business development both inside and outside the banking center.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers.

  • Assess financial needs of clients and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Meet and exceed sales goals for loans, deposits, and partner referrals.
  • Promote a sales culture within the banking center.
  • Communicate effectively with branch staff and peers.
  • Monitor performance against banking center goals and adjust as needed.
  • Conduct outbound calling activities to cross-sell and make referrals.
  • Set priorities and implement defined sales and service activities.
  • Promote company products in the community.
  • Support day-to-day operations including customer service and compliance.
  • Participate in regular sales and staff meetings.
  • Provide service to customers on banking matters.
  • Build relationships with internal business partners.
  • Maintain security controls to protect against risks.
  • Keep sensitive information confidential.
  • Answer incoming calls and support banking center success.
