About The Position
The Personal Banker position at the Medical Center in Houston, TX, is a full-time role focused on delivering a wide range of financial services to clients. The primary responsibilities include opening and closing accounts, renewing time deposit accounts, and assisting clients with various account inquiries and maintenance tasks. The Personal Banker will work closely with the Teller Supervisor to develop, train, and motivate lobby associates, ensuring they are equipped to assist customers effectively and cross-sell bank products and services. This role requires a basic understanding of deposit and loan products, as well as the ability to identify sales and referral opportunities to meet related goals. In this position, the Personal Banker will be responsible for presenting and explaining bank products and services to clients, helping them meet their financial needs. This includes managing checking, savings, time deposit, and individual retirement accounts, as well as handling safe deposit boxes, savings bonds, credit cards, and basic consumer loans. The Personal Banker will also be tasked with answering client questions, solving problems, and maintaining effective business relationships. They will need to profile clients to identify sales opportunities and utilize lead lists to generate additional business. The role also involves maintaining the privacy of customer account information, ensuring the bank's professional reputation is upheld, and coordinating effectively with area personnel and management. The Personal Banker will complete required reports and records accurately and promptly, attend meetings and training sessions, and oversee annual year-end reporting and special projects at the banking center level. Additionally, they will support Treasury Management with new accounts and services for clients, ensuring that daily logs are completed correctly and organized for review. The Personal Banker is expected to actively sell bank products and services, meeting sales production goals while performing related clerical duties as needed. Maintaining a clean, secure, and well-maintained work area is also a key responsibility.
