About The Position

The Personal Banker at KeyBank serves as a trusted advisor and partner to clients, focusing on their financial wellness through personalized guidance and solutions. This role involves engaging clients in meaningful conversations to uncover their needs, attracting new clients, and deepening relationships with existing ones. The Personal Banker is expected to embody a client-first approach, demonstrating strong teamwork and communication skills while achieving sales goals and ensuring compliance with banking policies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent business experience (required) or Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
• 1-3 years experience in developing customer relationships, achieving sales goals, and building referral sources.
• Understanding of consumer credit including loan to value, debt to income, and credit reports.
• Foundational knowledge of sales and service techniques with clients, including tele-consulting and networking.
• Demonstrated experience with influencing business partners and leveraging centers of influence.
• Working knowledge of PCs (MS Windows and Office Products).
• Working knowledge of digital technology and ability to educate clients on digital platforms.

Nice To Haves

• Comfortable interacting with small business clients and overcoming objections.
• Notary License (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Embodies a strong client experience culture, being present with every client and teammate.
• Listen for clues for financial wellness opportunities during client conversations and provide effective and customized financial wellness recommendations to clients.
• Consistently attains individual activity, behavior, and outcome expectations.
• Opening personal and business accounts including consumer checking, small business, and various deposit products.
• Developing strong partnerships with branch teammates and line of business partners, focusing on client acquisition and deepening relationships.
• Ensuring compliance with operational, risk, security, and audit procedures and policies.
• Support branch operations including assisting with client transactions on the Teller line as needed.
• Participate in and occasionally facilitate morning huddles and end of day debriefs.
• Complies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, acting professionally and ethically.
