About The Position

Personal Auto Claims Adjuster (BI and/or PD) Los Angeles, CA | Onsite | Claims Onward Insurance- A Knight Insurance Company Pay Range: $55,000- $65,000 Per Year. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure when applicable. Onward Insurance is a Managing General Agency (MGA) backed by Knight Insurance Group. We specialize in private passenger auto coverage for standard and non-standard drivers and are growing our in-office claims team in Los Angeles. We are seeking a Personal Auto Claims Adjuster with experience handling bodily injury (BI), property damage (PD), or both. This role is ideal for an adjuster who understands auto liability fundamentals, can manage an inventory independently, and wants to continue developing technical claims skills within a growing organization. What You'll Do as a Personal Auto Claims Adjuster: Manage a dedicated inventory of personal auto claims (PD and/or BI depending on experience) Investigate coverage and liability under California auto regulations Evaluate damages and set appropriate reserves Negotiate settlements within authority limits Communicate with policyholders, claimants, repair facilities, and attorneys as applicable Identify subrogation opportunities and escalate SIU concerns when appropriate Maintain accurate documentation and regulatory compliance Collaborate with senior adjusters on higher-exposure matters This is a full-cycle claims handling position — not an intake or call-center role. Qualifications What do we look for in our Personal Auto Claims Adjuster? 1–3+ years handling personal auto claims (BI, PD, or both) Bodily Injury experience preferred but not required California claims handling experience preferred Strong organization and documentation skills Ability to manage a steady claim inventory independently Comfortable negotiating liability and damages Active adjuster license (or ability to obtain, if required) MS Office proficiency Knowledge of California Department of Insurance requirements when communicating/drafting letters Bilingual Spanish is a strong plus. Requirements

  • 1–3+ years handling personal auto claims (BI, PD, or both)
  • Strong organization and documentation skills
  • Ability to manage a steady claim inventory independently
  • Comfortable negotiating liability and damages
  • Active adjuster license (or ability to obtain, if required)
  • MS Office proficiency
  • Knowledge of California Department of Insurance requirements when communicating/drafting letters

Nice To Haves

  • Bodily Injury experience preferred but not required
  • California claims handling experience preferred
