About The Position
The Person In Charge (PIC) at Albertsons Companies plays a crucial role in ensuring exceptional customer service and operational efficiency at the store. This position is primarily responsible for directing and controlling the operations of the Front End in the absence of store management, which includes the Store Manager and Assistant Managers. The PIC acts as the primary contact for customers, providing friendly, courteous, and helpful service while supervising store employees during their shift, typically at night. The PIC has the authority to make necessary decisions to operate the store effectively, maximizing profit and ensuring superior customer service. In addition to customer service, the PIC is responsible for handling emergencies, customer complaints, and employee or customer accidents. They maintain a high level of familiarity with company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance among all store personnel. The PIC supervises the sales floor, monitors service levels, and oversees the replenishment of products. They also assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment, support cashiers with technical issues, and perform basic office functions to assist customers and staff. The role requires the PIC to operate cash registers, process customer payments, and assist with bagging groceries. They may also be responsible for closing out the day’s transactions and counting tills when necessary. The PIC must be adaptable, as they may be required to work in various departments within the store, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently during their shift.
