About The Position

Support adults with developmental disabilities in community activities. The role involves facilitating the full inclusion of individuals with disabilities in recreation, volunteer, and employment sites of their choosing, while creating and using natural supports in a person-centered manner. The position requires teaching safety awareness to clients, promoting full engagement in activities, and monitoring client progress through case notes. Additionally, the role includes completing Special Incident Reports and other assigned paperwork, as well as maintaining fluent report writing skills and strong time management abilities.

Requirements

  • Two years’ experience working with adults with disabilities, preferably in a community setting.
  • Valid California driver’s license and clean DMV record.
  • Fingerprint clearance through the Department of Justice.
  • Complete and pass a TB and COVID-19 test and health screening exam.
  • Flu shot and COVID-19 vaccination/booster.
  • Working knowledge of developmental disabilities, quality program services, administrative and budgeting practices, and applicable Federal and State Regulations preferred.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals supported, their families, consultants, and governmental agencies.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the full inclusion of individuals with disabilities in recreation, volunteer, and employment sites.

  • Recognize unusual or threatening conditions related to persons with disabilities and resolve issues if necessary.
  • Monitor client progress through case notes.
  • Complete Special Incident Reports as needed.
  • Complete all other assigned paperwork.
  • Perform other duties as required.
