Tectonic’s Newburgh, NY office is excited to offer a full-time opportunity for a Permitting Specialist to join our team! Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in permitting for civil infrastructure, telecom, energy, or solar projects
  • HS Diploma/equivalent required
  • Detail oriented, with strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Strong understanding of permitting and zoning processes across multiple jurisdictions
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD 2024 or newer and Microsoft Office Suite is required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to travel and to perform site visits or attend meetings/hearings as needed
  • Requires a valid, clean driver’s license and personal vehicle

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is a plus
  • experience with GIS tools, AutoCAD, and permitting software is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, submit, and track permit applications for telecommunications, solar, energy, and civil engineering projects
  • Liaise with municipalities, utility companies, and governing bodies to facilitate approvals
  • Interpret zoning laws, environmental regulations, building codes, and agency requirements
  • Support due diligence and site acquisition teams by identifying permitting risks
  • Maintain permitting databases and logs to ensure all documentation is up to date and audit-ready
  • Provide updates to internal stakeholders regarding permit timelines, conditions, and delays
  • Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to ensure compliance with zoning and permitting requirements
  • Attend public hearings, planning board meetings, or site visits when necessary
  • All other related duties as assigned
