The Permits and Environmental Engineering Group Supervisor at Bechtel Corporation will oversee the permitting process for the Thacker Pass lithium project, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitating stakeholder engagement. This role is critical in managing the project's environmental and social performance commitments while coordinating with various project teams to integrate permitting requirements effectively.

  • Plans, implements, and maintains the project permitting and stakeholder engagement registers to track deliverables against project schedule.
  • Serves as a technical expert for the project, on permitting requirements and stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • Monitors and facilitates progress of permitting deliverables consistent with strategies, goals, measurements, and reporting standards.
  • Coordinates with and provides technical assistance to other project functional leads (e.g., engineering, procurement, construction, project controls) regarding developing and tracking project-specific permitting requirements.
  • Anticipates and manages issues that may impact the constructability of the project and/or project reputation.
  • Provides strategic advice for the project to manage the implementation of permitting requirements ensuring alignment with the project social and environmental performance commitments and strategy.
  • Provides strategic advice to project teams on potential impacts, expectations, and related implications; assesses consequences of project decisions; and works with project functional teams to develop proactive solutions to community and environmental issues.
  • Supports ongoing understanding of national and regional priorities and plans and keeps abreast of legislative developments, stakeholder interests and concerns, and other influential trends.
  • Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.
