About The Position

The Permit Technician at Champion Home Builders is responsible for processing and obtaining necessary permits required by local authorities for construction projects. This remote position requires effective communication with government agencies and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. The role emphasizes teamwork and collaboration with the Champion Construction Services division, ensuring timely and complete permit applications.

Requirements

• Two or more years of directly related experience and/or training.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership and follow-up skills.

Nice To Haves

• Prior permitting experience is a must.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with local Government agencies, building and zoning departments.
• Learn all nomenclature related to obtaining permits.
• Assemble documents required for permit applications including plat plans, pier plans, floor plans, and elevations.
• Utilize third-party consultants to produce some site drawings for the permit application.
• File applications in a timely manner, understanding the time sensitivity and completeness of the permit applications.
• Communicate with all members of the CCS team via email, text, and teleconference.
• Update CCS clients regularly on the status of permit applications.
