We are seeking a Permit Specialist to manage the full lifecycle of the permitting process, ensuring all applications are prepared accurately and submitted on time to support our construction projects. In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineering, sales, and project teams to gather required documentation, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide clear, ongoing updates on permit status. Strong communication skills are critical, as you will regularly coordinate with government agencies to help projects move forward efficiently. Requirements

  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • A proven track record of managing and completing permitting processes; familiarity with building codes is a plus
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam, with the ability to read, understand, and manage trade drawings and technical documentation
  • Prior permitting experience along with at least three years of administrative support, with an emphasis on permitting processes and managing documentation.
  • The expectation of working onsite in the SeaTac office three days per week and working remotely for the remaining two days
  • Highly accountable, with a strong sense of ownership
  • A clear, confident, and proactive communicator
  • A solution-oriented problem solver with a positive, can-do mindset
  • Passionate, self-motivated, and driven by a high level of initiative

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with business licensing processes is considered an added advantage

Responsibilities

  • Independently prepare and submit complete permit application packages, including all required forms; review drawings and submittals for accuracy and completeness; manage the uploading, delivery and retrieval of documents with various jurisdiction and online portals; and maintain up-to-date records within permit tracking systems.
  • Schedule and manage permit intake appointments while coordinating and overseeing a third-party permit runner to ensure timely submissions and follow-ups.
  • Track, monitor, and report permit-related costs to support accurate job costing and financial transparency.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with both local jurisdictions and internal stakeholders, ensure ongoing awareness and understanding of the latest permitting requirements, procedures, and regulatory updates specific to each municipality.
