About The Position

Bohler’s Melville, NY office is seeking a Permit Expeditor who thrives on organization, communication, and follow-through. Working closely with project teams across Long Island, you’ll manage municipal submissions, track approvals, and build relationships with local jurisdictions and agencies. Your coordination keeps projects on schedule and helps bring land development plans to life.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience with permitting or municipal coordination.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Customer-service mindset with professionalism in both in-office and field settings.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with local planning, zoning, and building processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, coordinate, submit, and follow up on municipal applications throughout the approval process.
  • Communicate status updates with clients, agencies, and internal teams.
  • Research jurisdictional regulations and maintain up-to-date databases of key contacts.
  • Coordinate meetings with municipal officials and public organizations.
  • Represent Bohler and clients at agency offices, building trusted relationships with decision-makers.
  • Deliver and pick up time-sensitive documentation and coordinate online submissions.
  • Review submission packages for accuracy and completeness.
  • Support project teams with permitting requirements and documentation management.
