About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse - Peritoneal Dialysis to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis treatment. You will be responsible for monitoring patients, administering medications, and ensuring their overall well-being during treatment sessions. This position requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients' vital signs and overall health status before, during, and after peritoneal dialysis treatments.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Educate patients and their families about peritoneal dialysis procedures, care plans, and lifestyle modifications.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Provide emotional support and counseling to patients experiencing the challenges of chronic kidney disease.
• Ensure the cleanliness and proper functioning of peritoneal dialysis equipment and facilities.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes.

Requirements

• Valid RN License
• BLS Certification (Preferred)
• 1 year of nursing experience (Required)
• CPDN (Required)

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in triage settings within hospitals or outpatient clinics.
• Knowledge of dementia care principles to support patients with cognitive impairments.
• Ability to perform suturing when necessary for patient care.
• Familiarity with sonography techniques as they relate to patient assessments.
• Strong health coaching skills to motivate patients towards better health management.
