Our R&D engineers are tasked with designing and developing innovative, breakthrough next-generation medical devices that improve and extend the lives of patients around the world. The Peripheral Interventions (PI) unit leads in minimally invasive therapies for peripheral artery disease, venous disease, vessel trauma, and cancer. Growth of the division is driven by the aging population, under-diagnosed and under-treated patient populations, heterogeneity of disease and unmet clinical need. PI offers innovations in drug-eluting technologies, clot management, embolization, and interventional oncology.

  • Design, fabricate, and prototype new device designs to address clinical feedback.
  • Develop new and innovative test methods for in vitro device testing.
  • Assist new product development teams in device development and testing.
  • Research and analyze clinical and market data for new market opportunities.
  • Must graduate between Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.
  • Must have at least one semester of school left post-internship.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Biomedical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Must be able to commit to one of the following full internship program periods: May 18th - August 7th OR May 26th - August 14th.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the Maple Grove, MN Boston Scientific Corporate location.
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office - MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Must have knowledge of analytical techniques and statistical analysis.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse cross-functional teams.
  • Ability and passion to learn new technologies and find new solutions.
  • Relocation and housing assistance may be available to those who meet the eligibility criteria.
