About The Position

Orients and completes the necessary competencies to perform a variety of essential environmental and material management functions that ensure patient safety, reduce the risk of hospital-acquired infections (HAC’s), and create safe, clean and sterile work environments for Surgical Services.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• (BLS) Basic Life Support within 30 days

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in the medical/surgical field a plus

Responsibilities

• Responsible for turnover of OR’s as well as weekly terminal cleaning
• Know and understand equipment used during surgeries, and how to set up rooms
• Understand Decontamination processes in Central Sterile, learn to clean and process endoscopy scopes, know instrumentation in order to be a runner for the surgical team, and help to pull cases for next day’s surgeries
• May also be asked to run specimens to the lab
• Cross train to PACU to assist as needed with patients or daily housekeeping needs
