The Outpatient Perioperative Novice Nurse Program is a 6-month program dedicated to providing training and education to Registered Nurses, either new graduates or experienced RNs, who have not worked in the intraoperative setting in the previous five years, or more. Under the general supervision of the Perioperative Services Nurse Educator, nurses will be equipped with the fundamental skills and tools critical to providing patient care in the perioperative setting. Interns will be trained to perform the duties of scrub nurse and circulating nurse.
