About The Position

The Perioperative RN - Circulator role at Oak Park Surgery Center is a full-time position focused on providing exceptional nursing care in the intra-operative areas of a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center. Requirements

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in California.
  • Documentation and confirmation of one year of operating room / ASC experience required.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Current BLS card.
  • ACLS certification within 3 months of hire.
  • Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and moving/lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Orthopedic and/or ASC experience preferred.
  • CNOR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the provision of nursing care in the assigned intra-operative areas of the surgery center.
  • Ensure patient needs are met in accordance with instructions of physician and facility administrative procedures.
  • Participates in various quality activities as appropriate and as directed by the Nursing Supervisor, Facility Administrator or Medical Director.
  • Set priorities in planning cases and making clinical decisions.
  • Provide care for patients undergoing surgery, as well as assist with pre-op and post-operative nursing care of the surgical patient.
  • Exhibit competency in performing all functions of assigned area or duties.
  • Set up room for surgical procedures and identify instrumentation and supply needs.
  • Complete procedural counts accurately.
  • Document activities according to facility policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate and practice aseptic technique.
  • Ability to multi-task and foster a cooperative effort as a team player.
  • Seek guidance, direction, and assistance when needed.
  • Recognize and utilize appropriate lines of communication.
  • Adhere to infection control standards and universal protocol.
