About our OR at UMMC East Bank: The East Bank Campus is a teaching hospital and has 24 newly renovated Operating Rooms. Our Operating Room is performing an average of 60 cases per day. We provide innovative surgical suites for adult patients needing surgical intervention. Days/Hours: Training will take place Monday through Friday, hours will vary. This training program is full-time (80 hours per two-week pay period) for the duration of the program. The position after training at UMMC West Bank is full time and will require rotating weekend, holiday and call hours Cost: We use AORN curriculum which is paid by M Health Fairview Committment: One year after completion of orientation The Operating Room RN provides services as a circulating nurse and is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for the patient undergoing surgical procedures in the operating room. The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedure, and professional practice guidelines. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate. The Perioperative 101 program is learner centered and structured. It is designed to provide specialized skills and knowledge in Perioperative nursing. Learning modules are presented through lectures, demonstrations and videos. Learning is reinforced in the lab and clinical setting. The classroom didactic, hands-on lab experiences and clinical practicum take place Monday through Friday on the day shift, however hours can vary. The method of evaluation will include chapter post-tests, final examination, skill demonstrations and preceptor observation in the clinical setting. Provides 41.7 continuing education contact hours after successful completion. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.
