About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Periodontist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in periodontal care and a commitment to providing high-quality treatment to patients. This role involves diagnosing and treating periodontal diseases, performing surgical procedures, and collaborating with other dental professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Requirements

• Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a residency program in periodontics.
• Valid dental license to practice in the state of employment.
• Proficiency in dental terminology, medical documentation, and infection control protocols.
• Experience with pediatric patients is a plus, as well as familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices.
• Strong skills in patient assessment, medical imaging, and maintaining medical records.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments to diagnose periodontal conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with gum disease.
• Perform surgical procedures including dental extractions, gum grafts, and other periodontal surgeries.
• Utilize medical imaging techniques to evaluate the condition of patients' gums and supporting structures.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient treatments and progress.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of infection control.
• Collaborate with general dentists and specialists in pediatric dentistry and prosthodontics to provide comprehensive care.
• Stay current with advancements in periodontology and participate in continuing education opportunities.
