About The Position
The Perinatal Safety Specialist at CHI Franciscan and Virginia Mason plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and quality of care for perinatal patients. This position is designed for a specialized nursing professional who will implement, promote, support, and oversee various patient safety and quality initiatives within the perinatal care framework. Reporting directly to the Director of Perinatal Services, the specialist will leverage their clinical expertise to enhance the safety and quality of care provided to pregnant women and their families. This role is pivotal in adhering to departmental, institutional, regional, and federal clinical and ethical standards, ensuring that all practices align with the highest safety protocols. The Perinatal Safety Specialist will actively participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at refining perinatal care processes and outcomes. This includes contributing to a culture of safety within the healthcare facility, where patient safety is the primary focus of all unit operations and clinical practices. The specialist will work collaboratively with healthcare teams to identify areas for improvement, implement best practices, and monitor the effectiveness of safety initiatives. By fostering a safe environment for mothers and babies, the Perinatal Safety Specialist will help to ensure that patients receive the highest quality of care throughout their perinatal journey.
