About The Position
The Perinatal Education Specialist provides comprehensive perinatal education services to expectant and new families while supporting daily operations of the New Parent Resource Center (NPRC). This role blends patient education, program support, and operational assistance to ensure high-quality, accessible maternal-child health services. The Specialist functions as an educator and resource within the Maternal Child Health department and supports outreach efforts that increases awareness of available programs and services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Health Education, Public Health, Social Work, Child Development, Education, or related field
- Six (6) months of experience providing perinatal, childbirth, breastfeeding, or early parenting education
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, EMR systems, scheduling platforms)
- International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA) certification, or must be able to obtain within six (6) months of hire
Nice To Haves
- Basic in Spanish
- Experience in hospital-based maternal-child health programs
- Lactation education or breastfeeding support experience
