A Brief Overview Under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Anesthesiologist, and in accordance with Hospital policies and procedures, the Peri-Anesthesia Tech provides basic care as a member of the patient care team. Locations Stanford Health Care What you will do Assists anesthesiologists transferring patients “beyond the red line“ within the Interventional Platform (Operating and Procedure rooms), including ICU transport, with anesthesiologist. Reports patient information, Communicates with IP staff for patient readiness to proceed to OR/Procedure room. Assists patients with going to the bathroom, if needed, before taking the patient to the OR. Assists with P/P (Pre/Post) bay turnover. Cleans and dresses the patient gurney, Stocks bedside supplies and helps move supplies and equipment within the unit or IP (Interventional Platform) to facilitate immediate patient care. Secures and retrieves patient belongings from patient lockers. Assists in maintaining the unit environment in a clean and orderly condition. Transfers patients safely in a manner that complies with Hospital guidelines. Performs basic patient care as needed under the direction and supervision of an RN/LVN. Adheres to the standards of nursing care and the policies and procedures of the Hospital and Nursing Department. Carries out all responsibilities following Hospital safety guidelines for self, patient, visitors, and employees. Completes orientation program and participates in learning activities to maintain and improve knowledge and skills. Contributes in a positive manner to the unit, department, and hospital goals. Performs duties as assigned to facilitate a clean, safe, orderly unit and patient care environment. With manager approval, may perform specific skills after documented instruction. Recognizes and addresses age-appropriate and cultural needs when caring for patients. Effectively communicates and interacts with patients, families, staff, and members of the community from diverse backgrounds.
