About The Position

This position performs basic patient care activities to patients in assigned areas.

Requirements

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
• Credential: BLS: Basic Life Support within 1 month of hire or transfer.
• Education: HIGH school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Internal MyMichigan Health Patient Care Technician certification.
• Current State of Michigan registry document as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
• Completion of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
• Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program.
• Successful completion of one semester of nursing clinical education by an Accredited Registered Nurse Program.
• Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through American Medical Technologist (AMT).
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).
• Equivalent Medical Assistant Credential such as Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA).

Responsibilities

• Assists with treatments ordered by physician and supervised by a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
• Reports findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Assists with keeping patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Other duties as assigned.
