About The Position

A professional nurse with a minimum of 5 years experience who provides a variety of teaching for staff, patients, families and the community. The focus areas are staff education, patient/family education, and community education.

Requirements

• BSN required, MSN preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in Labor and Delivery.
• CPR, ACLS and NRP current certification.

Nice To Haves

• MSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and participates in the orientation process of new employees.
• Coordinates and participates in annual and High Risk skills drills for all FBC and FSU employees.
• Competent administration of medications and use of SmartPumps.
• Best practices of huddle, hourly rounding, bedside reporting, AIDET, Service Excellence principles, and of white boards.
• Coordinates and maintains patient/family/staff education programs.
• Coordinates and participates in community/screening programs.
• Communicates with other departments/disciplines in providing quality care to patients and/or family.
• Serves as liaison between administration, the physician, and ancillary departments in order to affect positive outcomes.
• Develops and revises policies and procedures for Patient Care Services.
