Our Ambulatory Surgery and Procedure Center has 10 operating rooms and 6 procedure rooms and last year we cared for almost 13,000 patients. The Procedure Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability through the nursing process, for the pre-operative and post operative care of some procedure center patients in collaboration with other health care providers. The procedure center RN is also a key member of the intra-procedure team. Nurses with experience in Pre/Post and Procedure are encouraged to apply

Requirements

  • Current Minnesota RN Licensure, ACLS, and BLS certification
  • Minimum of three years of Procedural Endoscopy, Outpatient Surgery, or PACU, ICU, ER experience required

Nice To Haves

  • BSN, ASPAN, or CNOR certification
  • EPIC Super User

Responsibilities

  • Develop and initiate plan of patient care using an outcome based approach ensuring application of age related growth
  • Coordinate, lead all aspects of, deliver, and delegate nursing care based on patient assessment/standards of care
  • Direct, evaluate, and supervise the work of assistive personnel in providing delegated nursing services and development principles
  • Document, reassess and alter plan of care based on patient’s response to nursing interventions on an ongoing basis, to ensure continuity of care
  • Administer moderate sedation agents as per physician orders and sedation protocols
  • Responsible for circulating cases to patients undergoing procedures in Gastroenterology (GI), Interventional Radiology, and Pain Management.
