Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree plus graduation from a CAHEA approved perfusion training program
  • Certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion
  • NYS Perfusionist License
  • BLS required

Responsibilities

  • Providing safe, advanced methods for extra corporeal circulation for the Open Heart patient
  • Providing cardio-pulmonary bypass management
  • Set-up and operation of the extra-corporeal circuit and advanced life support systems
  • Set-up and calibration of physiological monitoring, auto-transfusion
  • Tandem Heart, RIS, adult ECMO and maintaining proper perfusion documentation
