Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science in Perfusion, other Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree required
  • Must obtain ABCP certification within 1 year of hire date
  • Experience as a Perfusionist, in a student capacity or independent practitioner

Responsibilities

  • Provides functions necessary for the support, treatment, measurement or supplementation of the cardiopulmonary and circulatory system of the patient.
  • Operates extracorporeal circulation equipment during any medical situation where it is necessary to support or replace the patient's cardiopulmonary/circulatory function and ensures the proper management of physiologic functions by monitoring the necessary variables.
  • Prepares and administers blood products and prescription solutions through bypass circuitry.
  • Regularly participates in the on call schedule
