The Perfusionist Faculty and Clinical Coordinator is a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position (with potential for future tenure consideration) within the Department of Cardiovascular Perfusion. This position reports directly to the Department Chair. As a faculty member, responsibilities include teaching didactic and clinical curricula, engaging in scholarship and professional development, and contributing to the intellectual and operational life of the department, college, and university, as outlined in the College of Health Professions Faculty Appointment, Promotion, and Tenure Standards. Faculty are expected to participate in student recruitment, admissions, and contribute to annual program evaluation and continuous improvement processes. As Clinical Coordinator, responsibilities include managing relationships with the programs affiliated clinical education centers, coordinating clinical preceptorship experiences aligned with the programs accredited curriculum, ensuring effective scheduling and communication with preceptors and clinical partners, and handling schedule adjustments across time zones with professionalism and a student-centered approach. Success in this role requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong organizational and time management abilities, and flexibility and responsiveness in managing unpredictable clinical schedules and last-minute changes. In consultation with the Chair, the faculty member will also support departmental efforts in related professional, clinical, or educational activities that advance the mission of the College of Health Professions.
