About The Position

The Performing Arts Manager at Cain Center for the Arts is responsible for overseeing the execution and growth of diverse performing arts programs. This role involves curating, developing, and managing events from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic goals. The manager will work closely with various departments to facilitate successful performances and enhance the overall experience for patrons.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, event planning, or related field.
  • Five years of experience in a booking/performing arts programming role.
  • Excellent project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong human relations and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite - PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams.
  • Experience with budget creation and management.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge in non-profit and/or performing arts operations.
  • Ability to create processes and SOPs that do not yet exist.
  • Demonstrated commitment to shared governance and consensus building.

Responsibilities

  • Lead performing arts initiatives and long-range planning guided by the organization's mission.
  • Research, identify, negotiate, and book shows that align with strategic plans and revenue goals.
  • Oversee the development of show pricing structures and advance shows with tour managers.
  • Coordinate hospitality for shows including hotels, transportation, and meals.
  • Select and book entertainment for opening acts as required.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Cain Center-produced and presented shows.
  • Prepare documentation for Board of Directors meetings and staff meetings as required.
  • Track contract and payment status and collect show expenses from internal departments.
  • Develop budgets for events in conjunction with the Director of Finance.
  • Manage the performing arts calendar and send available dates to promoters or agents.
  • Utilize analytical skills to interpret contract language for event execution.
