The Performance Technician is a full-time, hands-on role responsible for the administration of performance testing batteries within our sports science facility. This position supports a critical tier of our holistic human performance assessment, producing key metrics used by our medical and performance teams. As the in-person representative of our organization, the Performance Technician plays a pivotal role in delivering an exceptional member experience. The role involves direct engagement with elite and avid athletes, guiding them through sport-specific performance tests in a way that is clear, engaging, and aligned with their goals. We’re looking for someone with high energy and enthusiasm—someone who can keep members engaged, motivated, and excited throughout the full assessment experience. Technicians are expected to follow standardized procedures, operate cutting-edge sports science technologies, collect and organize performance data, and summarize key findings for internal stakeholders. Success in this role requires a strong background in coaching, customer service, sports science, and exercise physiology, as well as a deep appreciation for holistic health and wellness in the context of athletic performance. This position is based in San Francisco.

  • Administer the sports specific testing batteries for members, including tests specific to mobility, motor control, strength, power, and aerobic capacity
  • Learn and perfect the standard operating procedures of the test batteries (setup, directions, cues), ensuring the overall testing experience is seamless and repeatable
  • Efficiently and accurately organize all data and results into the internal athlete management system
  • Collaborate cross functionally with the medical and performance team, to ensure the athlete’s performance (both quantitative and qualitative) is fully understood
  • Continually research performance tests, to assist in perfecting the companies testing batteries from an evidence based lens
  • Create an unforgettable testing experience for each member (motivating, novel, engaging, meaningful, revealing), leaving them hungry and eager to return for future reassessments
  • Bachelors in Kinesiology/Exercise Science, or similar
  • Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, Clinical Exercise Physiologist, or similar
  • 2+ years experience as a Sports Scientist, Sports Performance Coach, or Personal Trainer, using data to drive clinical/performance decision making
  • 2+ years experience in a customer relationship role
  • Personal experience as an avid athlete or endurance sport competitor (specifically running or cycling)
  • Familiarity with DEXA body composition analysis
