KSE is seeking applicants for a Performance Scientist that will work within the high-performance environments of the Colorado Rapids First Team, Rapids 2 and Rapids Youth Academy. This is a full-time position and the appointment will begin January 1, 2026. Screening of applications will be open until position is filled. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in sports science, data science, statistics or a related degree
  • 2+ years of experience in an elite high-performance environment
  • Prior experience with STATSports, VALD and other common sports science technology
  • Prior experience with Teamworks AMS and R
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent ability to provide oral and written reports
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. daily
  • Work in extreme weather conditions
  • Must be flexible to adapt to schedules inherent to professional soccer, including but not limited to: practice and games on weekends and holidays, often outside of common business hours; potential travel for away games
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a high-performance environment

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in sports science, data science, statistics or a related degree
  • CSCS or CPSS certification
  • Proficient in R or Tableau
  • Strong understanding of statistics and research methodology

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the collection of common sports science data sources (i.e. GPS, force plates, isometric strength training, movement screens, body composition) for the Colorado Rapids First Team
  • Oversee and align the collection and analysis of sports science data for the Rapids 2 and Rapids Youth Academy with the First Team
  • Work closely with performance coaches, athletic trainers and dietitians to inform individualized on-field periodization and return to play at all levels of the club
  • Perform literature reviews, validate sports science testing procedures
  • Assist with the integration and maintenance of an athlete management system (Teamworks AMS)
  • Assist with the maintenance and organization of sports science equipment and testing batteries
