Under the direct supervision of the Quality Department Leadership the Performance Improvement Specialist coordinates activities to collect, aggregate, analyze and report data to support organizational performance improvement and sustainment initiatives. The Performance Improvement Specialist works collaboratively with hospital and medical staff to ensure patient safety, patient satisfaction, and improve both clinical outcomes and systems. This position is responsible for the coordination and data collection for mandatory measures and performance improvement activities, aggregating data, reporting, and analyzing quality data to support the Quality Department and organization leadership. The Performance Improvement Specialist is responsible for working with other leadership within the Quality Department to evaluate, design, implement, and sustain performance improvement and service excellence strategies for the organization. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Degree in nursing, business or health related field is preferred, equivalent experience considered. Current experience in hospital-based performance improvement and knowledge of regulatory requirements (i.e., The Joint Commission, DOH, IPRO, CMS) is preferred. Proficiency in desktop computer and statistical applications (Excel) required. Knowledge of data programming languages (such as SQL) is beneficial. Ability to develop data dashboards, charts, and visual aids to support decision-making across departments required. Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, demonstrated leadership and facilitation skills are essential for this role.
