Under the direction of the Director of Performance Analysis, the Performance Data Analyst performs highly complex (senior-level) data analysis and data research work to support the Performance Management and Analytics System. This system aims to integrate and transform HHSC program data to help monitor program performance and enhance data-driven decision-making. The role involves fostering relationships with HHS program staff, providing consultative services and technical assistance, and developing a strong understanding of the program's business and performance measures. The analyst will gather, track, and report performance data, analyze data to identify patterns, and monitor performance. Additionally, the position includes reviewing, assessing, and developing new measures as appropriate, and assisting program and PAV staff in developing and implementing new and modified performance tracking systems. The Performance Data Analyst provides ongoing support, consultation, continuous improvement strategies, assessment, reporting, and analytics for a wide variety of initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver who can leverage existing data and systems to provide actionable information for agency leaders. This position works under limited supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. The essential job functions include supporting PAV team initiatives, providing guidance in establishing metrics, utilizing tools for data gathering and reporting, analyzing legislation and policies, and attending work regularly in accordance with agency leave policy.
