The Performance and Attribution Consultant will support multiple types of investment performance reporting and analytics including security selection, market selection, asset allocation, and risk for a broad range of Fidelity portfolios, with an emphasis on Fixed Income portfolios. You will be responsible for responding to inquiries from the investment staff and senior leaders about performance and attribution results and will collaborate with index, accounting, and advisor analytics data teams for performance and attribution data needs. Acting as a performance and attribution subject matter specialist, you will participate in new product development initiatives with advisors and the investment product groups to ensure performance and attribution requirements are met when new strategies come to market. You will facilitate discussions with the technology team and other business partners to define business requirements for each product launch or fund structure change and ensure investment strategies are accurately handled within the Performance and Attribution System. This role is also responsible for the performance and attribution calculations across the various asset classes as well as interacting with and educating the investment staff, their support staff, and senior leadership on performance and attribution reporting across all asset classes.

  • Respond to inquiries from investment staff and senior leaders about performance and attribution results.
  • Collaborate with index, accounting, and advisor analytics data teams for performance and attribution data needs.
  • Participate in new product development initiatives to ensure performance and attribution requirements are met.
  • Facilitate discussions with the technology team and business partners to define business requirements for product launches.
  • Ensure investment strategies are accurately handled within the Performance and Attribution System.
  • Perform performance and attribution calculations across various asset classes.
  • Educate investment staff and senior leadership on performance and attribution reporting.
  • Deliver accurate and timely reporting on investment performance and attribution.
  • Compile, analyze, and validate attribution results distributed across the organization.
  • Analyze and interpret portfolio performance and identify factors impacting performance.
  • Create customized analyses for ad hoc inquiries from portfolio managers and senior leaders.
  • Support and take ownership of performance and attribution data quality and integrity.
  • Manage relationships with the department's client groups and business partners.
  • Act as a 'go to' leader for other analysts on the team.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, math science, engineering, or quantitative field.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in a fund accounting or performance-related environment preferred.
  • CFA or CIPM or progress towards one is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with attribution analysis, performance measurement calculations, and attribution calculations.
  • Knowledge of equity markets, bond markets, ETFs, derivatives, asset allocation, and portfolio construction.
  • Strong knowledge of third-party data (Morningstar, Lipper, etc.).
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills required (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with applications programming languages including SQL, Python, R.
  • Experience in defining business requirements to support technical specifications.
  • Attention to detail and ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to problem solve complex data issues and effectively communicate to internal clients.
