About The Position

Seattle Reign FC is seeking a Performance Analyst to support the team’s on-field success through advanced data analysis, performance insights, and evidence-based decision-making. This role will focus on collecting, analyzing, and communicating performance data to inform training design, match preparation, and recovery strategies. Working closely with the Director of High Performance, Technical Staff, and Medical Department, the Performance Analyst will help translate objective data into actionable insights that enhance individual and team performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Kinesiology, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a performance coach, performance analysis, sport science, or data analytics role within an elite collegiate or professional environment.
  • Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification, or equivalent.
  • Certified Performance and Sports Scientist (CPSS) certification required.
  • Demonstrated experience working with athlete tracking systems (e.g., Catapult, STATSports, Kinexon) and performance data platforms (e.g., AMS, Hudl, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Strong technical proficiency in data management and visualization tools, such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or coding languages like Python or R.
  • Familiarity with soccer-specific performance metrics and tactical principles.
  • Proven ability to interpret and communicate complex data clearly to coaches, players, and staff.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with meticulous attention to data quality and reporting timelines.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, working evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
  • High degree of professional integrity and alignment with Reign FC’s club values and performance culture.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Must reside within Washington state upon date of hire.
  • Must be able to facilitate own local travel.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of High Performance and Technical Staff with performance analysis across training and matches.
  • Collect, manage, and interpret data from GPS, match tracking systems, and wellness monitoring tools to evaluate player and team performance.
  • Produce insightful performance reports (training load, physical outputs, tactical trends) to support decision-making by coaches and performance staff.
  • Collaborate with the Medical and Strength & Conditioning teams to align physical data with injury prevention and return-to-play processes.
  • Maintain accurate data collection and storage within AMS and performance databases.
  • Deliver post-match and post-training reports integrating physical, technical, and tactical metrics.
  • Develop dashboards and visualization tools to improve accessibility and communication of performance data.
  • Assist in the integration of performance data with video and opposition analysis when relevant.
  • Support ongoing research and innovation within the club’s performance department.
  • Other duties as assigned.
