About The Position

IVI RMA North America is seeking a Per-Diem Surgical Center Technician for their Basking Ridge Surgery Center. This role involves handling instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgical procedures, requiring an understanding of the procedure to anticipate the surgeon's needs. Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Graduate of a nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologists and hold a certified surgical technologist credential OR Has a minimum two years’ experience as a surgical instrument technician prior to January 1, 2015 and required written employment documentation.
Current BLS Certification

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in women's health or reproductive endocrinology and infertility
2+ years of experience as a surgical technician

Responsibilities

Knowledge of surgical scrub processes and instrumentation for gyn, and urology procedures.
Follows proper sterility, infection control, and safety precautions in the performance of all duties.
Assembles supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
Prepares sterile instrument table.
Maintains aseptic techniques and actively monitors situations which could lead to breaches in aseptic technique.
Transports patients to and from surgical suite.
Assists the surgical team in surgical procedures which includes passing instruments, sponges, and sutures.
Gathers equipment for cleaning and sterilization.
Orients and mentors new staff members.
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
