About The Position

Combining the academic distinction of ColumbiaDoctors and clinical resources of NewYork-Presbyterian, Columbia/NewYork-Presbyterian Advanced Imaging (CNYPAI) was created to expand outpatient services in Radiology and imaging using MRI and PET CT. Utilizing cutting-edge technology with some of the world's most respected experts in the field, CNYPAI's mission is to diagnose and treat a range of diseases and conditions that may otherwise go unnoticed, as well as to further transform research efforts to improve health in individuals and populations, while holding the highest of standards for the patient experience. We are seeking a key RN leader that assists within the unit/department level programs related to quality and patient safety, performance improvement, PI project management and teamwork/skills validation. The Patient Safety Coordinator assists in data abstractions, recommends educational initiatives or policy changes or programs aimed at the prevention of safety events or medical errors and coaches clinicians to execute patient safety goals and a culture of safety.

Requirements

  • Current New York State Licensed Registered Nurse BSN.
  • Clinical experience in related specialty with progressive responsibility and accountability.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in quality and patient safety methodologies and performance improvement management.
  • Proficient in presenting clinical updates/materials to clinical staff related to quality and patient safety.
  • Demonstrated ability to review literature and other validated sources/evidence of professional standards of care.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters in Nursing or related field if already holds a BSN degree.
  • Experience in serious and near miss safety events-investigated, RCA, development of interventions to improve systems/processes.
  • Ability to assist clinical staff with performance improvement project publications- abstract writing, poster/podium presentations as needed.
