About The Position
The Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN) position at RWJBarnabas Health is a critical role within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Jersey City Medical Center. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about providing high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. The RN will be responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients in the ICU, ensuring that all practices align with the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards. The role requires a strong commitment to ethical standards of practice as defined by the American Nurses Association (ANA) code of ethics. As a Registered Nurse in the ICU, you will be expected to maintain a high level of safety in practice, utilizing evidence-based practices to enhance patient care. You will be responsible for assessing the needs of patients, developing individualized care plans, and implementing appropriate interventions. The RN will also supervise and direct the delegation of tasks to other team members, ensuring effective collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The position requires a flexible schedule, with day shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM, including two weekend shifts per month, at least one weekday shift, and one major and one minor holiday annually. The RN will be expected to report any safety issues and medical errors promptly, and to continuously advance their own knowledge and that of their colleagues. This role is vital in maintaining the high standards of care that Jersey City Medical Center is known for, as it has earned multiple national safety ratings and Magnet Designation for Nursing Excellence.
