About The Position

The Per Diem Psychiatric Evaluator plays a vital role in the Community Guardian Program by conducting psychiatric evaluations to assess clients' mental health needs. This position is essential for ensuring that clients receive appropriate guardianship and community-based support services, contributing to their overall well-being.

Requirements

• Doctorate in Psychiatry (MD), Clinical Psychologist, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with Psychiatric Specialization
• Current, unrestricted license to practice in New York State
• Minimum of three years of experience in conducting psychiatric evaluations, preferably with adults and older adults
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Commitment to JASA's mission and values
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with electronic health records (EHR)
• Ability to travel using mass transit for field visits as necessary

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for selected clients in the Community Guardian Program
• Prepare detailed evaluation reports including diagnosis and treatment recommendations
• Collaborate with CGP social work staff to integrate psychiatric findings into the overall care plan
• Provide consultations to CGP staff regarding psychiatric concerns and management strategies for clients
• Attend case conferences and meetings as needed to discuss client cases and provide expert input
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations and communications in accordance with JASA policies and regulatory requirements
• Stay updated on best practices and advancements in psychiatric evaluation techniques relevant to the CGP populations
