About The Position
Penn State Health is seeking a per diem / prn EMT / ER Technician for a per diem / prn job in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. This position is responsible for responding to emergencies, assessing patients, and providing treatment in accordance with the Pennsylvania Department of Health Basic Life Support standard curriculum. The EMT / ER Technician will also be responsible for transporting patients according to established protocols and assisting Advanced Life Support (Paramedic) providers with patient care management. Additionally, the role includes performing non-emergency routine medical transports utilizing ambulances and wheelchair vans, as well as ensuring complete and appropriate documentation is followed up after each transport. The EMT / ER Technician will work flexible shifts, including 12-hour days and nights, with the potential for up to 36 hours per week. The position requires a valid driver's license and certification as an EMT in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or eligibility for reciprocity if certified in another state. The candidate must also obtain PA DOH EMSVO certification within 30 days of the start date, along with HazMat Awareness Training and NIMS (100, 200, 700, 800) within the same timeframe. This role is crucial in providing high-quality emergency medical services and ensuring that patients receive the best possible care during transport to medical facilities.
